Option to participate in research study pays up to $230

As part of this next class, you have the additional opportunity to participate in an independent research study. The study is being conducted by Dr. Clifford Saron and his colleagues at the Center for Mind and Brain at the University of California, Davis. They are investigating the effects of mindfulness-based training on reactions to social and emotional scenes and situations, and on interpersonal experiences in daily life. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete 3 assessments and would be compensated up to $230 for your time. The 3 assessments would be completed from your own home and would take place the week before your course begins, the week after your course ends, and 8 weeks after your course ends. Participation in this research is entirely optional and is not part of the training you will receive in your class. My Background

My path to mindfulness began in Duluth at the University of Minnesota. Finding healthier ways to peace, while completing a BA in Communication and Art. Movement and nature were key tools & teachers. I feel so fortunate to have discovered how yoga and meditation connect us, challenge us and help us grow.

MEDITATION

I am a qualified MBSR teacher, Level 2. Grateful for teachers over the recent years, Eve Ekman and Matthew Brensilver. I have Jack Kornfield to thank for the inspiration to sit (somewhat still). I appreciate the lessons learned from Mushim at EBMC. I am thankful for continued learning from the teachings from Jon Kabat-Zinn.

YOGA

I have received certification at Piedmont Advanced Studies Program & Yoga for Healthy Aging, Trauma Informed Yoga, Yoga Therapeutics & Youth Yoga Dharma. Thankful for influence from Baxter Bell, Bessel van der Kolk Debbie Gilman, Rajashree Choudhury & Patricia Nolan.

ACTIVISM

Appreciation to the students, survivors and staff of non profits whose teachings continue to connect leaders in advocacy and social justice, Malia Everette at Altruvistas, Nola Brantley and all who have been connected with misssey.org .
