He also discovers that his father's former partner, Dr. Rajit Ratha, plans to use Connors' serum on war veterans without proper testing. Peter, who has adopted the alter ego of Spider-Man, tracks down the Lizard and fights him, but is wounded and loses his mask. Meanwhile, Gwen, who works as an intern at Oscorp, helps Peter create an antidote for Connors' condition.
The Lizard then plans to release a chemical cloud from Oscorp's tower that will turn all humans into lizards like him. He also kidnaps Gwen and takes her to the tower. Spider-Man arrives and battles the Lizard, while Gwen disperses the antidote using the tower's antenna. The Lizard reverts back to Connors, who saves Spider-Man from falling and tells him to go after Gwen.
Spider-Man then swings away with Gwen, but is confronted by Captain Stacy, who has learned his identity and tries to arrest him.
